Diversity

The BMD Diversity and Inclusion Committee brings together corporate and regional leaders and employees to drive BMD’s diversity and inclusion priorities across the business. The Committee provides a forum to share progress, local insights and initiatives, identify emerging challenges and ensure our approach remains coordinated and practical. Our Diversity and Inclusion strategy is focused across four key pillars: Indigenous Participation, Gender Equality, Next Gen Workforce and Socially Inclusive Employment. Each pillar has clear objectives and actions, supported by dedicated working groups and our Regional Diversity and Inclusion Committees.

The regional committees are particularly important in translating Group strategy into meaningful local action. They provide a strong connection to our people and projects, helping identify region specific opportunities and challenges, build local engagement and ensure initiatives are relevant, practical and responsive to the needs of each region. A key priority is also the delivery of BMD’s Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP), which provides a structured roadmap to improve gender representation, career development, leadership opportunities, workplace practices and inclusion, with progress monitored through the Committee.
