About the project

BMD delivered the new Marino Community Hall, a vibrant and modern facility designed to provide lasting social and community benefits.

The hall is now a central hub for arts, multicultural and social programs, encouraging participation across all age groups in the community.

The completed building features flexible activity spaces, office facilities, a welcoming cafe, and a state-of-the-art performance hall equipped with advanced lighting and audio systems.

Externally, its striking design incorporates blockwork walls, timber canopies, and expansive landscaped areas, creating a contemporary and inviting space for the Marino community.

Project scope

Multipurpose community activity spaces

Informal cafe space and office facilities

A performance hall capable of delivering a wide range of community programs

Modern services including electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations

Construction of a specialised curved and sloped car park

Landscaping to integrate the facility with the surrounding area

Outcomes

The project team navigated several challenges during delivery, including asbestos contamination, overhead powerlines and working within a residential setting. Through proactive safety management, resequencing of works and ongoing engagement with local residents, BMD ensured the community hall was delivered to the highest standards while minimising disruption.
