BMD is delivering civil works as part of the Somers & Hervey residential estate in the Upper Ross region of Townsville, Queensland.

Spanning 80-hectares, the neighbourhood area is expected to home over 800 families with lot sizes up to 1,200 metres squared.

Scope of works

Civil construction works, including earthworks, roadworks, water and stormwater works, electrical, communications and erosion and sediment control

Stormwater drainage, box culvert development, asphalting

Outcomes

Completion of trunk electrical infrastructure from overhead to underground to improve site safety, reliability and long-term serviceability

Delivered proactive environmental management measures to support safe, efficient and responsible works across the site

Stage 3A, 3B, 3C and 4A completed in May 2026

100% of local labour and suppliers used throughout construction, enhancing local capability
