BMD Urban completed the civil infrastructure for Airport Drive within Melbourne Airport's property precinct, building on almost two decades of infrastructure delivery for Australia Pacific Airports (Melbourne).

Accredited pipe crews and extensive experience working with authorities enabled the safe delivery of deep excavations and underground infrastructure, laying the foundations for future development across the precinct.

Scope of works

550 metres of 2.1-metre-diameter reinforced concrete stormwater pipe laid at depths of up to 6.5 metres, with each pipe section weighing approximately 6.7 tonnes

Drainage works across Airport Drive while maintaining live traffic, supported by staged construction and traffic management

215 metres of sewer pipeline and associated manholes

Deep excavations, engineered service supports and protection of existing underground utilities to facilitate drainage works

Temporary works, demolition, service relocations, site remediation and reinstatement of Airport Drive following open trenching
