BMD Board member Paul Fogarty announces retirement after 33 years of service
Since joining BMD in 1993, Paul has played a significant role in the growth and success of the organisation, helping shape BMD’s construction capability and contributing to the delivery of some of the company’s most complex and significant projects.
Throughout his career, Paul has been recognised not only for his operational expertise and leadership, but also for his commitment to developing people. As a mentor, trusted adviser and advocate for professional growth, he has helped guide generations of construction professionals and leaders across BMD.
BMD Chief Executive Officer Scott Power said Paul’s contribution to the business and industry had been extraordinary.
"For more than three decades, Paul has played an important role in the evolution of BMD and the success of our construction business. His leadership, commitment to excellence and investment in our people have left a lasting impact on our organisation,” Mr Power said.
"Paul has consistently demonstrated the values that define BMD. He has built strong relationships across our business, with our clients and throughout the industry, earning enormous respect along the way. On behalf of the Board, the Power family and everyone at BMD, I thank Paul for his outstanding contribution and wish him every success and happiness in retirement."
Paul's influence extends beyond BMD through his contributions to Australia's civil construction industry. He served as Queensland Branch President of the Civil Contractors Federation from 2006 to 2008 and received the CCF Queensland President's Award in 2015 in recognition of his service and contribution to the sector.
As Paul enters retirement, BMD thanks him for his exceptional service, leadership and dedication, and acknowledges the lasting legacy he leaves across the business and the broader construction industry.
Looking ahead, BMD is focused on the next phase of its governance and leadership evolution. This includes shaping the future structure of the Board to support the company’s continued success.
