BMD sharpens focus on critical risk through Full Power Safety
Through Full Power Safety, BMD is building on its strong safety culture to introduce new behavioural practices, clear safety fundamentals and simplified frameworks designed to remove clutter and strengthen the systems that protect every person on every site.
Built from the feedback of more than 1,500 ideas shared through the company’s Clear the Clutter campaign, this program of work focuses effort where it matters most, empowering everyone on site to own safety and make confident decisions in managing critical risks.
BMD Chief Executive Officer Scott Power said the program of work marks an important step in BMD’s ongoing journey to strengthen safety across all areas of the business.
“Safety has always been at the heart of who we are. Through Full Power Safety, we’re taking a sharper, more disciplined approach to managing critical risk.
“Strong safety cultures are built by people who care and this program is about how we protect our teams, our partners and our communities.”

“It’s about strengthening the fundamentals and giving our people the clarity and confidence to make the right calls,” said Mr Power.
BMD Group Safety Manager Zach Humphrey said Full Power Safety reflects the feedback and ideas direct from the workforce.
“Our people told us what needed to change. Full Power Safety addresses that feedback. It’s been directed by our workforce, for our workforce, ensuring that our systems are clear, practical and genuinely support our people on the ground.”
"Full Power Safety sets the benchmark for how we protect our teams. It underscores BMD's focus on continuous improvement, sharing learnings and lifting safety standards across the construction industry," said Mr Humphrey.
Full Power Safety is about preventing life-changing harm, supporting safe decisions in the field, empowering ownership amongst our workforce, and putting the right information at everyone’s fingertips for confidence and clarity. Designed by BMD, for BMD. That’s Full Power Safety.
