Empowering learning for families and children with Second Chance technology
Providing access to technology, which is a vital tool for learning and connection, helps remove barriers for students experiencing hardship and creates opportunities to continue their education and stay connected to essential services in their community.
Second Chance Programme President Kathleen Noonan said the donation will make a meaningful difference.
“These laptops are providing children experiencing uncertainty with a sense of stability, routine and vital tools to support their education. For many families starting again with almost nothing, this support has a huge impact.”
BMD General Manager Corporate Affairs Katie O’Malley said the donation reflects BMD’s ongoing commitment to gender equality and inclusive pathways.
“One of the pillars of our Gender Equality Action Plan focuses on building industry capability and increasing female participation through school and university engagement. We hope that access to laptops creates ongoing learning opportunities for families experiencing hardship, encouraging them to continue their education and inspire confidence in their future pathway.”
