BMD to transform Queensland’s Gateway Motorway and Bruce Highway corridors
Delivered as part of the Gateway Connect Joint Venture, alongside CPB Contractors and Georgiou, the project includes additional lanes for the Gateway Motorway, staged improvements to existing roads, new road and bridges, and the delivery of shared user pathways, wildlife fencing and fauna underpasses to enhance environmental outcomes.
BMD Chief Executive Officer Scott Power said the project represents another milestone in BMD’s proud history of partnering with the Queensland Government to deliver infrastructure that strengthens communities.
“BMD brings more than four decades of experience in delivering large-scale road and bridge projects that connect communities and strengthen the state’s infrastructure. As an Australian-owned contractor, we are committed to creating long-term value through quality project outcomes and engaging local industry to support regional growth.
“This project will transform a critical corridor to and from Brisbane, improving capacity, easing congestion and enhancing safety for motorists, while helping to shape South East Queensland ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond.”
BMD Executive General Manager of Constructions Jeff Gallus said BMD’s approach combines technical excellence with a focus on legacy outcomes.
“Our teams are recognised for their capability in delivering complex brownfield upgrades safely and efficiently, while maintaining critical traffic movements. We’ll draw on our extensive design development, staging and construction experience to minimise disruption and deliver durable, high-performance infrastructure.
“Equally, we’re focused on supporting local industry participation and workforce development, ensuring this investment delivers lasting benefits for Queensland communities.”
The project is the first of two stages to upgrade the Gateway Motorway and the Bruce Highway in North Brisbane. Works will commence following the detailed design.
