BMD appointed to deliver Elizabeth Drive Upgrade in Western Sydney

The joint venture will undertake integrated civil, structural and utility works across two key road corridors in Western Sydney, spanning 4.5 kilometres of Elizabeth Drive and 3 kilometres of Mamre Road.

The upgrades will improve travel times and network resilience, strengthen connections across Western Sydney and help accommodate growing commercial and commuter traffic, while supporting future investment around Western Sydney International Airport.

The award adds to BMD’s expanding portfolio in Western Sydney. This includes the completed Landside Civils and Buildings Works and Aprons Subcontract at Western Sydney International Airport, as well as the Western Sydney International Business Precinct Stage One, which BMD is currently delivering.

BMD Constructions NSW/ACT General Manager Yiannis Stavreas said the project represents an important opportunity to continue contributing to the transformation of the region.

“Through our work across Western Sydney, BMD has developed strong experience delivering major infrastructure to support significant growth and development across the city’s west.

“That includes experience delivering complex transport infrastructure and managing the interfaces involved in major projects, which we look forward to bringing to our work with Gamuda Engineering Australia and Transport for NSW.

“The project continues BMD’s long history of delivering for Transport for NSW across regional and metropolitan projects throughout the state. We look forward to working together to deliver an update that improves safety and capacity of this important corridor for the communities and businesses that rely on it,” Mr Stavreas said.

The joint venture will work closely with Transport for NSW and project stakeholders to progress delivery of the upgrades, with completion targeted for 2030.
