BMD site powered by solar
BMD Urban’s Torhaven Stage 1 project is now running completely off solar energy throughout the day, with the recent installation of solar panels and a battery system onsite. BMD Urban is committed to Zero Harm in the environments in which we operate, and this initiative is another positive step towards achieving this goal.
The switch to solar energy has allowed for the removal of a diesel-powered generator, which saw both site noise and environmental footprint decrease, and has also impacted site security as the flood lights and CCTV camera are able to run throughout the night on the solar battery.
BMD Urban is currently undertaking civil works for Defence Housing Australia, as part of Stage 1 at the Torhaven development in Deebing Heights, 10 minutes south of Ipswich’s CBD. The project is currently on schedule for completion in August this year. BMD Urban engaged Hembrow’s Electrical Service to lease the system for the duration of the project.
