Scam alert | Suspected BMD impersonation

intranet-tiles-(4)
BMD has received reports of people falsely claiming to represent the business when selling goods online or requesting payment. The activity includes the use of employee names, BMD-branded invoices and email addresses made to resemble genuine BMD accounts. The reported offers and invoices are not authorised by BMD. We are taking steps to have identified fraudulent domains and associated advertisements removed.

BMD uses corporate email addresses ending in @bmd.com.au and @bmdgroup.global. Our official website is bmdgroup.global. A familiar name, logo or apparently genuine email address does not confirm that a request is legitimate.

Check before paying or sharing information

If you receive a suspicious offer, invoice or request claiming a connection with BMD, do not pay or provide personal or financial information until you have checked it directly with us.

Call your established BMD contact on a number you already trust, or obtain our contact details independently from our official website. Do not use contact details or links in the suspicious material.

Suspected fraudulent use of the BMD name can be reported to reportscam@bmd.com.au.

Already paid or shared banking information?

If you have already paid or shared banking information, contact your bank or payment provider immediately. Do not wait for BMD to respond.

Retain any emails, invoices, advertisements, contact details and transaction records.

Report online fraud to police through ReportCyber, and suspicious activity to Scamwatch and the relevant online platform.
