BMD fraud alert – protect against scam activity

BMD has been made aware of fraudulent activity involving individuals falsely representing themselves as BMD employees and using fake BMD-branded email addresses and invoices issued under fraudulent business entities using BMD names to sell products through Facebook. This has resulted in personal accounts being compromised.

To protect yourself and your business, we’d like to remind you of the following:

Do not change payment details: Never update payment instructions based on an email, message or phone request without verification. Requests to alter BMD payment details should be treated as suspicious unless verified directly with us.

Verify directly with BMD: If you receive any communication asking you to alter payment details, please contact us directly at (07) 3893 7000 or to brisbane@bmd.com.au or reach out directly to your BMD contact to verify the authenticity of the request.

Stay vigilant: Be cautious of any suspicious emails or messages that appear to be from individuals representing BMD requesting payment changes. Always confirm any changes directly with BMD before taking action. If you suspect a scam, do not respond. Report it to Scamwatch.
