Royal Australian Navy’s largest base set to receive key infrastructure upgrade
HMAS Stirling is located on Garden Island and provides operational and logistical support to the navy’s ships, submarines and aircraft stationed in Western Australia.
BMD’s scope of works involves upgrading much of the base’s 29 kilometres of sealed road network, with the majority originally constructed when the base was commissioned in 1973.
The project will also see BMD widen and reconfigure part of the network to incorporate cycle lanes, improving safety for road users. During construction, line-marking and signage will be upgraded to conform to Main Roads Western Australia standards.
BMD has a proud history of delivering Department of Defence projects throughout Australia and looks forward to the opportunity to work with our long-term client to achieve successful project outcomes for the navy base.
