About the project

BMD has been contracted by Ampol Refineries (QLD) to deliver extensive bulk earthworks and civil works aimed at strengthening the refinery’s production capacity to meet future fuel demands. Incorporating both greenfield and brownfield works, the project is being delivered across two separable portions to prepare the facility for the next phase of civil construction.

Stage 1: Extension of main Refinery Carpark and construction of new carpark and village compound

Bulk Earthworks including clearing and grubbing, topsoil stripping and excavation, removal of unsuitable material and filling

Site establishment for the construction village and refinery expansion works

Construction of new car parks and construction laydown areas

Installation of services and stormwater drainage

Installation of driven concrete piles

Stage 2: Clearing, levelling and compaction of the Refinery Desulphurisation Project Area

All civil works associated with installation of underground services including construction or supply of concrete pits

Construction of concrete structures ranging from heavy process infrastructure support pads to waste treatment facilities, pipe supports and structural pedestals

Finishing works including lighting, fire water infrastructure, height indicators, bollards, roads, hardstands and kerbs

Management of construction activities including contaminated soil and wastewater disposal, on-site water treatment and traffic control
