BMD encourages Clontarf teens to pursue a career in civil
BMD had strong presence at the recent Clontarf Foundation Employment Forum, aimed at showing young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men the many rewarding career pathways available to them.
Held at the People First Stadium at the Gold Coast, the forum was opened by BMD Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Trainee and recent Clontarf graduate Owen, who then facilitated an engaging panel discussion with individuals working across the construction industry.
BMD Employee Engagement and Retention Manager Craig addressed the forum before the audience broke into 15-minute rotations of different delegation areas.
Our BMD people shared advice about following their interests, and let them know the BMD door is open to them for a discussion about a career in civil construction any time.
Talking to the success of the Forum, Indigenous Program Manager Dart shared that at BMD, we are encouraging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander school-leavers to consider a career with us.
“There are so many great career pathways at BMD, and as a growing international business we recognise the immense opportunities we can provide Clontarf graduates,” he said.
“Providing meaningful employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is important to us as a business and to our commitment to progressing reconciliation in Australia."
“At BMD, we are committed to creating positive social outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and are proudly moving towards our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan.”
BMD is a proud partner of Clontarf Foundation, which exists to improve the education, discipline, life skills, self-esteem, and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
