BMD partners with Motivation Foundation to deliver employment outcomes

At BMD we are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided $160,000 in financial assistance to 36 community organisations who were doing it tough. One of those organisations was the Motivation Foundation, a Western Australia not-for-profit committed to providing skills to diverse and disadvantaged young people and helping them find employment. Our support helped mentoring and coaching for students undertaking their Certificate II in Civil and Mining.

Now we are delighted to welcome one of the Motivation Foundation’s star pupils - Kellen Burton - who recently came on board as a civil labourer working with our urban development team in Perth.  With the support of the Motivation Foundation, Kellen got a Certificate II in Civil Construction and a Roller Operator Ticket and gained a range of work skills which gave him a leg-up in being job ready to join the team at BMD.

Onsite at BMD, Kellen is utilising his learnings and enjoying being part of a project team that is proud to offer the largest pool of experienced resources in the industry. Kellen has identified BMD’s culture, the range of jobs he is able to work on, and the people he works with, as key reasons he enjoys working at BMD.

BMD has a proud history of contributing to the regions where we work, and we are delighted that our involvement with the Motivation Foundation is helping the next generation of talent within the construction industry.
