JMac supports Carina Women’s Shed community project
The Carina Women’s Shed will provide a safe and welcoming space for women of all backgrounds to learn, create and connect. From practical workshops to social activities, the shed is expected to become a vibrant hub for connection, wellbeing and shared learning in the Carina region.
JMac General Manager Jason Lindsay said the project reflects JMac’s commitment to giving back to local communities.
“The Carina Women’s Shed project shows what can be achieved when community unites behind a shared vision,” he said.
“At JMac, we are proud to power projects that create lasting community benefit, particularly initiatives that form inclusive spaces and foster meaningful social connection.
“Our role has been to contribute advice and project management support to help the committee and project partners bring this important community facility closer to reality.”
Councillor Lisa Atwood said the Carina Women’s Shed would create a strong foundation for local women to come together.
“The Carina Women’s Shed’s vision is to create a community of empowered women who come together through activities that enable fun, friendship, support and learning.
“Like any new community organisation, the Carina Women’s Shed will grow step by step, and we are proud to support the project, investing $480,000 to help bring the Shed to life.”
JMac’s support forms part of BMD Group’s broader commitment to enriching the communities in which it operates, using the skills and experience of its people to support initiatives that make a practical difference.
Once complete, the Carina Women’s Shed will stand as a testament to the dedication of local volunteers, supporters and partners who have worked tirelessly to make the project a reality.
With construction now underway, the community is one step closer to welcome a space designed to empower, inspire and connect women for years to come.
