BMD presents Indigenous Sport Access Foundation grant to budding Northern Territory athlete

BMD is proud to support a $2000 Sport Access Foundation grant for Kaitlyn Naismith, a 15-year-old para-swimming athlete from Darwin.

The grant was announced at a special event held in Darwin last week, with Paralympian and Sport Access Foundation founder, Katie Kelly OAM delighted to see that disability sports in Australia are becoming more recognised and growing in popularity for both participants and spectators.

Richie Ward, Regional Manager, BMD Urban, said the grant would not only help Kaitlyn financially, but give a big boost to her profile in her local community.

“BMD acknowledges the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in both our business and the communities in which we work,” he said.

“We were pleased to come on board this year and support Sport Access Foundation with a donation that directly assists a young athlete from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Territory. It’s fantastic to see young people like Kaitlyn, striving to achieve their very best.”
